Making lanterns with the Alameda High School Key Club

Friends of Lincoln Square Park recently had the opportunity to make colorful lanterns and celebrate spring with our local community. In partnership with the Alameda High School Key Club, we participated in the 2024 Lantern Festival sponsored by Oakland Bloom in Oakland Chinatown. This two-day festival brought in thousands of people after hours for shopping, dining and entertainment. We hosted a free lantern making booth, talked to the public about our new rec center soon to break ground, and enjoyed making new friends of all ages!
