Lunar New Year 2023 recap

After the past few years saw our community’s Lunar New Year celebrations paused due to COVID, Oakland Chinatown came back stronger than ever in 2023. Friends of Lincoln Square Park tried to attend as many events possible….We loved seeing so many familiar faces out and about! From hosting Alameda County Supervisor, Keith Carson’s Lunar New Year event at Lincoln Recreation Center, to making lanterns at the lantern festival, to seeing our Boy and Girl Scouts walk in the Chinatown parade, we were thrilled to see Chinatown buzzing once again. Thanks to all who showed up at events, said hello, and contributed to our community. We are looking forward to keeping this energy going during the Year of the Rabbit!
